Tour Name: Spring Mystery Tour
Tour Dates: May 25-27, 2022
Tour Director: Justin Zook
Tour Director Highlights: We had the unique opportunity to experience traveling into the “unknown” or Parkersburg, West Virginia on this Spring Mystery Tour trip! On the way, we toured the Chesapeake & Ohio National Historical Park, the only place in the United States where a working lock, canal and aqueduct exist in one location. As we continued west after our stop at the C&O Canal, we enjoyed the amazing overlook at Coopers Rock near the Maryland/West Virginia state line and even had time for a group photo! Our destination for the evening was the beautiful Blennerhassett Hotel where we enjoyed a two-night stay and scrumptious chef-prepared meals each day. Day two was spent at the Blennerhassett Museum and Island for a carriage ride and tour of the stately Blennerhassett Mansion – such a unique and historical place! As we voyaged homeward on day three, we stopped in western Pennsylvania at Frank Lloyd Wright’s lesser-known masterpiece, Kentuck Knob, for a tour of the home and grounds. Our last stop was in Bedford to enjoy free time to explore the town on our own and final stop at the “Giant Quarter” for a final group photo. With thundershowers threatening both of our final two days on the trip, it was a blessing to enjoy a beautiful, sunny afternoon together on our way back home!
