Tour: Mackinac Island & Thunder Bay Resort

Tour Director Highlights: The first highlight of this tour was time spent on beautiful, peaceful, Mackinac Island where transportation consists of horse drawn carriages, bicycles, and walking. Another highlight was Thunder Bay where we watched two elk herds with the bulls rounding up their harems and listened to the majestic sound of their bugling call. Other stops included Michigan’s Little Bavaria complete with German-themed churches, buildings, and meals. We stopped at three lighthouses on the beautiful Lake Huron. Museum stops included The Henry Ford with displays of cars and presidents, farm equipment and home furnishings, and the Warther Museum featuring Ernest Mooney’s amazing intricate, hand-carved trains. We made new friends with other travelers who were happy to be on the road again, too.
