Off we go on the 2019 Grandparents and Grandchildren Mystery Trip — to Eastland Alpacas in Mt. Joy and T&D Cats near Selinsgrove, PA.
We put on plastic booties to keep our shoes (and the coach!) clean.
All the alpacas had just been shorn, but the shearer left many of their heads au natural.
Everyone got to feed an alpaca is they wanted to.
At first, the youngsters were intimidated by the overt friendliness of the alpacas, but it did not take long until they were hugging them.
Mama alpaca and baby. The baby was on wobbly legs because it was less than 24 hours old. The owner let us name him Bob for Bob Neff Tours!
BNT’s Anna with hubby and granddaughter.
Alpacas are really tame, and some love to pose for the cameras.
So special to see grandparents and their grandchildren interacting in new and exciting places.
The tour director makes friends with just about anyone!
It was a great day for shades!
T&D Cats is an exotic animal rescue facility. We saw Siberian tigers, lions, and bears – oh, my!
Each child made a picture frame to take home to put their favorite photo of the day in.
