Tour Name: The Best of Texas

Tour Date:  April 23 – May 5, 2025

Tour Director:  Angie Rohrer

Tour Director Highlights: On our recent almost 4,000 mile journey to and from Texas we were blessed with good weather (most of the time), good food, good fellowship and good singing! We traveled deep into the heart of Texas. To our delight and surprise we experienced “Fiesta San Antonio”. This is an 11 day celebration dating back to 1891 to honor the heroes of the Alamo and battle of San Jacinto. We saw a colorful water parade on the Riverwalk just outside our 23 story hotel (an old beautiful restored bank building).

One of our early stops on the way to Texas included “The New Orleans School of Cooking” where we had an authentic meal, learned the history of Cajun and Creole foods and culture. Some folks enjoyed beignets at a local cafe. Tuskegee, Alabama was another stop we made on our way south to visit the airfield where African American Pilots were trained for WWII. We also visited Montgomery, Alabama where some had their picture taken beside a statue of Rosa Parks.

In Austin, we visited the LB Johnson Presidential Library and later in Dallas the George W. Bush Presidential Library. For some on our trip, a highlight was to experience the Dallas Cowboys massive AT&T Stadium-What a place!!! We enjoyed a great tour of the stadium and even sat in Jerry Jones (owner of the Cowboys) seat! Our local tour guide in Memphis brought his guitar and sang for us on the coach. Please check out our Bob Neff catalog for a trip you can’t resist!! Happy Travels!
