Tour Name: Route 66
Tour Date: April 29 – May 10, 2024
Tour Director: Grace Heagy
Tour Director Highlights: We got our kicks on Route 66 by traveling from Chicago to Santa Monica, California, through 8 states. Along the way we visited various Route 66 museums, the Lincoln Library and Will Rogers Museum. The Murrah Memorial provided a somber reminder of the terrorist attack in April, 1995. Then it was on to Albuquerque and Santa Fe for a tram ride, meals at Route 66 diners, and locals driving their old cars around town squares. We enjoyed the natural beauty of the Painted Desert, Petrified Forest and Grand Canyon. At the end of Route 66, we got to dip our toes into the Pacific Ocean at Santa Monica. The tour concluded with a visit to the Ronald Reagan Library and the Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum, which included a car purchased in Hershey, PA.
