This tour is being offered in cooperation with Messiah College.

Day 1 *Relax and enjoy the scenery as we journey north towards Vermont  *See the unique architecture of “The Egg” in Albany, NY and enjoy dinner together at the old “Publyk House” as we travel into the state of Vermont  *Overnight in Rutland, Vermont (D)

Day 2 *Visit Marsh-Billings National Park and Farm Museum where three generations of unique families lived…George Marsh, who was one of America’s first conservationists and among other things, authored Man and Nature; then Frederick Billings, who contributed greatly to scientific farm management and land usage; finally the mansion was owned by Laurence S. and Mary F. Rockefeller, who continued their legacy and donated it to the American people.  It was made a National Park and signed into law by President Bush in August, 1992.  See the farm, tour the mansion and learn about this legacy.  *Travel on to Maine  *Overnight, Bar Harbor, ME (1st of 2 nights)  (B, D)

Day 3 *Sail out of the Gulf of Maine for a narrated Whale Watch tour to find a variety of whale species along with seals, eagles, porpoises, dolphins, offshore birds, lighthouses and North Atlantic Puffins  *Lunch on own and browsing in Bar Harbor  *Tour, with knowledgeable guide, Acadia National Park, the first national park east of the Mississippi River *Dinner and overnight in Bar Harbor (B, D)

Day 4 *Travel south to Rockland, Maine *Enjoy this picturesque, quaint town as we have lunch together *Stop for a picture of Owls Head Lighthouse, built in 1825  *Continue down the coast to the Maine Maritime Museum *Dine on own around hotel *Overnight, South Portland, ME (B, L)

Day 5 *Visit the Portland Headlight – “The Most Photographed Lighthouse”  *Cruise to Peaks Island and enjoy the fabulous experience of a lobster bake on the island  *Overnight in Haverhill, MA (B, L)

Day 6 *Travel south to Boston as we cruise the Boston Harbor and view one of Boston’s most treasured landmarks, the USS Constitution  *See other highlights such as the Bunker Hill Monument, the site of the Boston Tea Party and the Old North Church  *A local guide will join us for a driving tour of a portion of the Freedom Trail which will help us experience some exciting early American history *Lunch in Sturbridge, MA  *Journey homeward (B, L)
