Day 1  *Arrive in Vancouver, with dazzling views of the Pacific Ocean and majestic mountains *Enjoy a Welcome Dinner *Overnight in Vancouver (1st of 2 nights) (D)

Day 2  *Ferry through scenic Gulf Islands to Vancouver Island to visit Butchart Gardens *Stroll the meandering paths of the Gardens *Visit Victoria, British Columbia’s beautiful capital *Have a Victoria City Tour featuring the Inner Harbor and imposing Parliament Building *Enjoy free time in the city *Overnight in Vancouver (B)

Day 3  *Tour Vancouver, seeing Stanley Park, Chinatown & Gastown *Board VIA Rail’s train, The Canadian, for a classic and memorable two-day and overnight rail excursion into the awe-inspiring Canadian Rockies *Explore the train before settling into your comfortable Berth in the Sleeper Plus Train Car (The Berths feature seats that convert to upper and lower beds for sleeping. Each 20-passenger Sleeper Plus Train Car features washrooms and a shower.) Day 4  *Travel aboard The Canadian along the North Thompson River, passing towering peaks and glacial valleys in a vast wilderness *View incredible passing scenery like Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies *Cross the Continental Divide into Alberta, arriving in Jasper *Discover Jasper National Park, a photographer’s paradise *Begin with a visit to Maligne Canyon, a Jasper landmark *Watch for wildlife en route to Maligne Lake, the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies *Overnight in Jasper (B)

Day 5  *Drive along the Icefields Parkway, one of North America’s most spectacular drives, winding between snow-domed peaks and immense hanging glaciers *Watch for elk, deer, bighorn sheep or bear *Stop to see Athabasca Falls *Ride in a specially designed Ice Explorer on the 1,000-foot thick Athabasca Glacier, part of the Columbia Icefield *Travel to Banff National Park *Overnight in Banff (1st of 3 nights) (B, D)
