Day 1
- Visit the Natural Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem, PA
- Travel North for our overnight in Danbury, CT (L)
Day 2
- Begin with a ride on the Essex SteamTrain, traveling through the picturesque Connecticut River Valley, seeing stunning views of the river, forest, and charming towns. The train departs from the historic Essex Station, a charming building that has been serving the community since 1892.
- Board the Becky Thatcher riverboat at Deep River Landing for a 1 ¼ hour boxed-lunch cruise along the Connecticut River. The deep water, coves, inlets, marshes, wildlife and rocky shoreline are, all at once, simply breathtaking! Just as impressive are the historic sites to view along the way.
- Explore Mystic Seaport, the largest maritime museum in the U.S. and a recreated seaport village featuring over 60 historic buildings, filled with artifacts and interactive exhibits
- Witness skilled craftsmen restoring and preserving historic vessels and discover fascinating exhibits that delve into the history of shipbuilding, navigation, whaling and other maritime topics
- Dine at a local restaurant
- Overnight in Warwick, RI (B, L, D)
Day 3
- Travel to New Hampshire
- Have an included lunch at a local restaurant
- Spend the day touring with a guide that includes a visit to a Christmas Tree Farm and a horse-drawn wagon ride through the trees. Think Christmas in June!
- Dine at a local restaurant
- Overnight in Woburn, MA (B, L, D)
Day 4
- Relax on a cruise on Squam Lake and learn about the natural forces that created it
- Observe the beauty of loons and bald eagles in their natural habitat
- Board the Winnipesauke Railroad Turkey Dinner Train for a 2-hour ride along the Lake and a hot roast turkey dinner carved at your table
- Overnight and dinner in Lincoln, NH (1st of 2 nights) (B, L, D)
Day 5
- Tour the Kancamagus Highway, with guide, seeing one of the most scenic routes in America and located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The “Kanc” as the locals call it, is officially the section of Route 112 that is both an attraction and a destination.
- Visit the Cog Railway and enjoy a 3-hour scenic train ride to Mount Washington’s summit, the Northeast’s Highest Peak. A box lunch will be included on the ride
- Ride on the luxurious Café Lafayette Dinner Train, with its beautifully restored Pullman dining cars
- Relax to period music while enjoying dinner on board
- Overnight in Lincoln, NH (B, L, D)
Day 6
- Visit the authentic old-fashioned Fadden’s General Store, with an on-site maple sugar house, groceries, souvenirs and much more
- Depart for home, making appropriate stops en route (B, D)
