Day 1 *Travel to Virginia for our first colonial period meal at Gadsby’s in Alexandria, VA Gadsby’s opened in 1785 and was frequented by the Presidents of Virginia—Washington, Jefferson, Monroe and Madison. *Tour Mount Vernon on the banks of the Potomac River and home of George and Martha Washington  *Dinner and overnight in Charlottesville, VA (1st of 2 nights) (L)

Day 2 *Tour the home of Thomas Jefferson, Monticello *Enjoy an authentic colonial lunch in the rustic tavern setting of historic Michie Tavern  *Visit Ash Lawn—Highland, the home of James Monroe, fifth president of the United States *Dinner and overnight in Charlottesville, VA (B, L)

Day 3 *Travel a short distance to Montpelier Station, VA, to the home of James Madison, where he shaped the ideas that would become the U.S. Constitution *Explore the Civil War Museum and Visitor Center in Gettysburg, PA *Take in the Museum, a film on the Civil War and the Cyclorama painting depicting Pickett’s Charge *Enjoy our final colonial meal together at the Inn at Herr Ridge (B, D)
