Day 1

*Travel to West Virginia making appropriate stops along the way

*Tour the Greenbank Observatory, the first national astronomy observatory and science center

*Enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant

*Overnight in Elkins, West Virginia (1^st of 2 nights) (D)

Day 2

* Embark on the Greenbrier Express train from the historic town of Cass and follow the Greenbrier River to the small mountain village of Durbin, with lunch included on the train excursion

*Dinner and overnight in Elkins (B, L, D)

Day 3

*Drive to the Canyon Rim Visitor Center and New River Gorge to take in the spectacular sights of one of the oldest rivers on the continent

*Walk out on the viewing platform for a picturesque view of the bridge

*Shop and lunch on your own at Tamarack Marketplace. Located in Beckley, West Virginia, you will enjoy this hub for artists, musicians, and regional food that offers unique shopping, dining, and regional culture.

*See some of the highest points in the state before going underground at the Beckley Coal Mine to ride through the dark passages of a vintage coal mine. Guides are veteran miners that will give firsthand knowledge of the coal mining life.

*Settle in for dinner and overnight in Beckley, West Virginia (B, D)

Day 4

*Have breakfast and then depart for the Greenbrier Resort

*Be fascinated by the famous Bunker Tour and have an included lunch at Sam Snead’s on the property

*Journey towards home, stopping at the famous Harper’s Ferry, with time to explore this town and have dinner on your own before finishing the journey home (B, L)
